FULL TIME CUSTOMS CLEARANCE CLERK/PROCESS ADMINISTRATOR

Job Description
Morrison Freight a leading, independently-owned, freight company specialising in European logistics and road freight solutions. Our award-winning company is searching for a customs clearance/process co-ordinator who wants to take their career to the next level, improve their skill set, and be part of a highly motivated team based in Great Blakenham.

The candidate will be involved in daily export and import customs procedures, have the freedom to express themselves, have their opinions and ideas listened too, acted upon, and importantly be part of a team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Complete the day-to-day customs processes supporting the operations team
  • Checking and creating documentation for Imports and Exports that meet government regulations
  • Receiving, collating and organising incoming paperwork received by email and raising queries if necessary
  • Liaising with importers/exporters and others to obtain mandatory information for import and export entries
  • Have an understanding of the HMRC/statutory requirements and how to meet these
  • Be comfortable working with a variety of commodities
  • Creation of customs documents
  • Building and maintaining client relations for continued business and development

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Be able to understand and complete Import & Export declarations and Transit Movements
  • Competent eye for detail and able to work and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of customs software such as CHIEF, CNS, Destin8, CFSP or Multifreight
  • Experience in performing customs entries export/import (2 years minimum)
  • Process customs formalities for all sea and road freight consignments
  • A minimum of 2 years experience within this field

Additional information:
Hours: Monday – Friday 08:30hrs – 17:00hrs
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 D.O.E + pension + holiday entitlement

PART TIME – PURCHASE LEDGER ASSISTANT

Job description:

Morrison Freight Ltd is a privately owned, multi award-winning European freight forwarding company providing a range of collection and delivery services throughout the UK and mainland Europe. Established in 1990, we operate in over 20 Countries and have shown significant growth year on year.

You will be working within the Finance department, and closely with the Operations team to support the accounts and admin function of the business. This is an opportunity that offers growth within the role, and the chance to join a professional and reputable business.

Main Duties:

  • Maintaining the Purchase Ledger
  • Payment queries management via email and telephone
  • Assistance with monthly payment runs
  • Processing of purchase invoices
  • General bookkeeping duties
  • General office administration and filing
  • Working within the accounts team to liaise with and support the operations team

Requirements:

  • 2 years minimum experience in an accounting role
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong IT skills, knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft office applications
  • Strong organisational and planning skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to contribute to a positive working environment
  • A team player, demonstrating energy and drive and a willingness to collaborate within a small team

Freight Accounts/Administration experience is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

Additional information:
Location: The role will be office based in Ipswich, Suffolk with on site parking
Hours: 15/16 hrs per week – flexible schedule for days/hours for example Tues, Wed, Thurs – 9 am-2 pm
Salary: £13.50-£14.50 per hour

INSIDE SALES SPECIALIST

Our growing company is searching for a full time sales executive who wants to improve their skill set, and be part of a highly motivated team based in Great Blakenham.

Job description:
The candidate must have at least 2 years solid telesales experience. They will ideally have some experience within the freight/logistics sector, however it’s not essential as training will be given. The candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills and be able to demonstrate a committed approach to initiating contact with with both new and existing customers. The main objective is to proactively seek opportunities of further growth through new and retained business whilst building stronger foundations.

The role will include:

  • Identify and develop new sales leads
  • Positive sales activities to generate new business opportunities
  • Regular engagement with customers to ensure new and current business is maintained
  • Work alongside the BDM manager helping record outcome of sales leads
  • Prepare, deliver and follow up quotations and leads
  • Work alongside weekly and monthly targets
  • Seamlessly passing converted jobs to the operations department
  • Prospect new opportunities for the assigned facilities and/or markets leveraging cold calling techniques
  • Helping grow new customer and business development portfolio within the assigned customer base collaborate within the sales team to prioritise opportunities based on market capacity demands and profile needs

Key requirements:

  • Have good clear communication skills.
  • Self-motivated & driven
  • Enjoy and thrive on being part of a team
  • Ability to generate new leads, form good relationships & effectively close deals

EUROPEAN FREIGHT FORWARDER

The candidate will be involved in daily operations within markets such as Germany, Belgium and Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy. They’ll have the freedom to express themselves, have their opinions and ideas listened too, acted upon, and importantly be a valued part of an ever growing team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Planning, organising, directing, and help run day-to-day operations
  • Increase productivity, whilst minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Responsibility for negotiating rates with customers as well as transportation costs of suppliers
  • Maintain and improve working relationships with both customers and suppliers
  • Drive continuous improvement and optimisation of all processes
  • Monitoring transport rates, markets, and looking after the job from start to finish
  • Sub-contracting haulage requirements, managing transportation bookings, and quotations

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience of working as a European Freight forwarder via road
  • 3+ years’ experience within the European road freight forwarding sector
  • Familiarity of the industry and technical expertise
  • Knowledge and understanding of rates, customers, and suppliers within the European road freight sector
  • Professional approach to both suppliers and customers
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team
  • Additional European language would be advantageous, however is not essential

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

Our growing company is searching for a dynamic Business Development Executive who wants to take their career to the next level and be part of a highly motivated team based in Great Blakenham, Suffolk.

Job description:
As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for selling and managing accounts within your assigned customer base. Additionally, you will develop and maintain business relationships with managers and senior executives to promote company growth.

You will work closely with departmental Managers, developing business solutions that utilise services to help solve customer’s logistical problems and building competitive advantage.

Along with colleagues, you will at times attend customer meetings, conducting detailed business proposal presentations, highlighting the best tailor-made solution to benefit their requirements and will be crucial in identifying business opportunities.

Your role will go beyond a front line sales role as you will use your analytical skills to help produce a detail development and growth plan for all customers, assess their needs and identifying their business and cycles.

Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and implement sales strategies
  • Communicating with in/outbound leads via multiple channels (phone, email and social media)
  • Maintain and expand relationships with clients to effectively negotiate and close opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with the members of the inside sales team on finding ways to improve team performance and exceed sales target
  • Help with new opportunities for the assigned facilities and/or markets leveraging mail campaigns and cold calling techniques
  • Help grow new customer and business development portfolio within the assigned customer base
  • Collaborate within the sales, BD team to prioritise opportunities based on market capacity demands

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar Business Development & Sales role
  • 3 – 5 years of sales & business development experience Ideally, experience within the European freight forwarding industry however, experience within a different area of logistics would also be considered
  • Be commercially orientated, analytical and a confident communicator
  • Have an open and likeable personality with honesty and integrity and an autonomous approach with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • As this role involves a occasional travel nationally you must have a full UK driver’s license
